“Brigid”

Brigid is the daughter of Gus x Dar. She is a wonderful female, completely correct in structure, well balanced in temperament, a willing learner she is drivy and independent yet fabulous with those she has never met, she is showing strong herding potential. Brigid is full of life and we look forward to working with her more.  She, like her older sister Heli, is what a “Gardus” female should be through and through.  Brigid is a carrier for the long coat gene.

Unfortunately, Brigid’s ear was broken by the “big girls” while she was out playing when she was 9 months old... so we had to say good-bye to the show ring, BUT that does not keep her from being all that she is.  She is a stunning girl, not only to watch move, but also in her personality. She doesn’t give up, ever and will continue to work through a “problem” until she has solved it. This talent comes directly from her Grandmother Kiaya and her Grandfather Kato... oh how we love her and treasure every moment with her.

<----  She has the reach, the absolute correct angulation (without being extreme) and the balance in movement to easily move into a flying trot and maintain it for hours.  We are strongly considering making the drive to the closest herding facility to work her until we have sheep of our own for her to tend.

Like most of our dogs, Brigid enjoys bitework as you can see in the photo - there is NO stress in those eyes, no level of irritation and absolutely no concern - she is taking a full mouth bite and looking directly into the eyes of the person she is engaged with... man, it’s wonderful to live with our dogs!
