MondouCu’s Gardus Litter 2006

Originally the naming of this litter was a Freudian slip.  “Gus” being the sire and “Dar” being the dam - but it worked, and as the litter grew, it fit. These pups truly “Guard-Us”. The first litter was kept, in it’s entirety until we knew for certain exactly what it was that we had created. We knew when they were little there was something very special about this breeding, but we wanted to know for ourselves exactly what that something was.  So, we kept all five of those pups and raised them.

antonio14mo

Antonio was the first of the Gardus crew to leave... that was a hard day on all of us. He has always been a beautiful, confident, intense dog with a heart of gold and a presence that demands attention without the overbearing “jerk” factor.

griffin03

Griffin was the second of the Gardus crew to leave us, and we still talk about him often - sweet boy with a tender side, always looking to please you, gentle with children and adults alike - clown like personality that always made us smile.

armando04

Armando is an upfront, in your face, assertive guy. He bonds tightly with his person and has no fear of anything.  He, like his brother’s ear was injured while playing with another breeders dogs. We have kept him with us for potential breeding and home protection - he is always Guarding Us!

amontehead040802

After 16 months of raising, knowing everything that this breeding gives us, and having the opportunity to train this crew, Lori has decided to keep Amonte in our breeding as a potential future stud dog. Like all of our males, there is a road ahead of him, as he must prove that he is worthy of being a part of our breeding program.

heli702

Angelica aka. “Heli” is the only female born to the first Gardus litter.  We had determined the moment she was born that we would be holding on to her to see what she was made of, and eventually see if she fits into our breeding program, and what a fabulous female she has become.  Her intensity, focus and drive are amazing, her structure is dynamic and her temperament is stunning. With anticipation for good hip results, she will enter our breeding program in fall of 2008.
